Vasco Da Gama Pillar;The Vasco da Gama Pillar is a historical monument located in Malindi, on the Kenyan coast. The pillar was erected in 1498 by the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama to mark his arrival in Malindi during his journey to India. The pillar was used as a navigational landmark by Portuguese sailors in the Indian Ocean and served as a symbol of Portuguese presence in East Africa.
